HYALURONIC acid - The key molecule in our skin!

Updated: Nov 15, 2020

HY-A-LU-RO-NIC acid, phew, somewhat difficult to say (and even harder to spell), this skin-care ingredient, commonly found in your favorite serums, sheet masks, and moisturizers, works as a magnet for moisture, helping your cells retain as much of it as possible so that your skin feels and appears hydrated, plump and healthy.

While the fact that "acid" makes up 50 percent of the name, don't be fooled into thinking the ingredient is not for everyone;

In fact, our own skin cells actually produce hyaluronic acid naturally in a bid to maintain moisture levels and holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water. But, thanks to pesky ageing and environmental aggressors, to name just a few things flung at our faces on a daily basis, those levels tend to take a bit of a dip.

Additional perks of hyaluronic acid include its lightweight, watery nature, and ability to lock in moisture from the environment and deeper dermis to fully hydrate the skin.

HA, short for the name, is safely used in all skin types, with that said is gentle enough to be used on acne prone, sensitive, eczema, rosacea prone skin.

The main benefits of HA include: - Intense hydration of skin - Reduction of appearance of fine lines and wrinkles - Softer and soothing skin - Reinforcement of skin barrier - Healing of wounds

So, if you want to maintain your youthful glow, incorporating hyaluronic acid into your face skincare routine is definitely a good idea. SA Aura Glow definitely has your back when we speak about HA products. So, watch this space people! #hyaluronicacid #saauraglow #safeskincare
